police officer riding a motorcycleIt’s springtime in Maryland, which means motorcyclists have already begun to take to the roads. On average, motorcycle crashes cause more than 70 fatalities and hundreds of injuries on our roads every year. Maryland now participates in BikeSafe, a worldwide safety initiative designed to protect riders and reduce crashes. BikeSafe Maryland provides education, assessments, and one-on-one mentoring for all motorcycle riders. Whether this is your first season of riding or your fiftieth, let BikeSafe help you get road ready.

The BikeSafe Approach

BikeSafe Maryland promotes safe riding by educating motorcyclists, covering:

  • Motorcycle safety topics.
  • Advanced riding techniques.
  • Motorcycle control.
  • Common collision causes.
  • Other practical advice for safety and comfort.

In addition to classroom instruction, riders will have skills assessments by experienced motor officers. This partnership is vital for providing tailored feedback to each rider who attends the class.
